Hebrew Bible
Hebrew Bible also known as Mikra is the founding document of Judaism.The Hebrew Bible is a collection of writings that was first complied and preserved as the sacred books of the Jewish people. The bible is the account of God's dealing with the Jews as his chosen people, who are called Israelites. The Hebrew Bible narrate not only the history but the genealogy of the people of Israel to the conquest and settlement of the Promised Land under the covenant of God with Abraham and promised to make a great nation under his name.
The Hebrew Bible's profoundly monotheistic interpreatation of human life and the universa as creations of God. The books that constitute the Hebrew Bible developed roughly a millenium. Just like a Christian Bible it tells the origins and history of the Judaism. It possesses teaching of the prophets. The tern Hebrew Bible is an attempt to provide respect to contents, while avoiding allusion to any particular interpretative tradition.
Talmud
The Talmud is a collection of writings that interpret the Torah scriptures. The Talmud is also known as the Oral Torah. It is equally sacred as the written Torah in the Orthodox Judaism. The Talmud has two components: the Mishnah, the written compendium of Rbbinic Judaism's Oral Torah. The second Part is the Gemara, an elucidation of the Mishnah and related Tannaitic writing that often ventures onto the subjects and expounds broadly in the Hebrew Bible.
The whole Talmud consists of 63 tractates, and in standard print is over 6,200 pages long. It is written in Tannaitic Hebrew and Aramaic. The Talmud is the basis for all codes of Jewish law and is much quoted in rabbic literature.
